What is the minimum salary required to survive in India?

This story is very touching. I have just read this in an Indian newspaper – “The Hindu”. I thought to share this story with my readers of WordPress. I find it

Unbelievable ! Unbelievable !! Unbelievable !!!

This is totally unbelievable to know the kind of Government apathy towards weaker section of our societies.

Government fights the case for not paying the salary and spends millions of Indian rupees on courts and lawyers related payments. But much less of these amounts cannot be paid to these hapless women, which is their rightful demand and even highest court of the country is endorsing their demand.

Photograph of these two ladies, who are facing the might of Indian autocracy(It is not democracy at all), has been shown here. Even the order of Supreme court of India has not been implemented by the Karnataka State government. For the last 42 years, they are getting a salary of Rs.15 per month which is equivalent to USD 0.27 per month. Can you believe this? And they have survived with this salary to fight their case with the State Government.

Man sets fire to home by microwaving socks, underwear

This news is coming from London where currently Olympic is being organized by Great Britain..

British fire fighters say they saved an apartment from destruction after its domestically challenged resident tried to dry his wet socks and underwear in a microwave oven.

The Dorset Fire and Rescue Service says fire fighters rescued the man from his home and extinguished the kitchen blaze on Monday.

The fire destroyed the appliance along with the two pairs of underwear and socks inside it, and caused smoke damage to the apartment in Weymouth, a town on England’s southwest coast.

“The fire safety message here is to never put clothing of any kind in the microwave or an oven to attempt to dry them,” the Dorset firefighters said in a statement.

Moral of the story :  A microwave is for leftovers, not your boxers.

Someone should tell Indian Hockey team…How to score goal?

The scene was pathetic today. I had decided to watch India-Belgium hockey match of London Olympic 2012. And India lost by 3-0. Few years back, no body would have believed that India will loose a match from a team like Belgium. But when I saw the match, I must say that Belgium team deserved to win today.

India’s passing and ball possession was pathetic. Shivendra Singh was playing like a club player. Sandeep Singh was also below average. Sardara Singh seems to have lost the appetite to win.  Ball possession and interception was never so bad as I saw today. It seems that India was totally clueless about rival’s strength today. Belgium had taken many shots on Indian goal post and was able to make two field goal and one penalty corner. And Belgium goalkeeper was marvellous in saving many shots.

From India side, no player was playing to his potential. Defence was weak and Belgium was able to penetrate the D circle many times. But when India was trying to enter D circle, the Belgium defence was at its best. European Hockey has won today. Asian Hockey has lost. Now a team like India, who had won 8 Olympic golds, have to play for 11th and 12th position. Who knows, Pakistani team would be there to support India in worst time of Asian Hockey.

Now only God can save Indian Hockey……Coach has done the job, but what he can do when players are not putting their heart into the game. And one more thing, when I opened some Internet news site after the match, almost every site was having story of India’s win against Srilankan cricket team in T20. But didn’t find any news of Indian hockey team’s loss to Belgium. Here lies the problem of Indian Hockey.

Pensive mood inside Indian train

Kids are kids, we need to understand their psychology to handle them.  My son was with me inside AC coach when I was travelling from Mumbai to Delhi. Usually he is very naughty and restless during travel. He always throws tantrums in such a way that travelling through public transport becomes difficult for the family.

He knows how to get his demands fulfilled. When he gets up after a good sleep, he prefers to sit in isolation for some time. He doesn’t want to be  disturbed for the first 10-15 minutes. He takes his own time to come to normal routine. If he is at home, he sits in the balcony and observes surrounding outside.

I have captured his similar mood inside the train. He had a good afternoon nap and after getting up he was looking outside the window. Without telling him anything, I captured his mood in black and white. The photos have come out nicely due to lights coming out of the window and the shadow effects created in the background. Here are the photographs. His mood here is close to pensive and he seems to be deep inside his thought.
